BASIC SUMMARY:
  • This position is responsible for requisitioning supplies and specialty items for our  Laboratories .
  • As part of the Laboratory Operations team, this position is expected to assist with routine Lab Operations duties as required. 
  • This position requires attention to detail and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.  
  • The position operates in a fast paced environment where the commitment to teamwork, quality, and speed is essential.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •   Ability to work effectively with individuals from all departments and divisions
  •   Ability to meet multiple, simultaneous, time-sensitive deadlines
  •   Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  •   The individual in this position may be required to provide cross-functional support to other service lines within CRL as needed
  •   Serve as primary CRL  requisitioning agent at Innovation Drive site
  •   Consolidate and coordinate orders to meet deadlines and cost considerations
  •   Assist with job costing as requested
  •   Assist service lines to help  identify specialty equipment  and services
  •   Assist with routine Laboratory Operations duties (e.g. enter receipts in SAP, outgoing shipments, scheduling courier deliveries) as required
  •   Competencies in the use of SciQuest, MS Word, MS Excel, and the use of MS Access databases
  •   Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  •   Independent communications and interactions with both internal and external contacts
  •   Train other users in the use of SciQuest
  •   Ability to effectively negotiate with outside vendors, CRL buyer, and end users in order to meet supply deadlines
  •   Follow company SOPs, policies, and practices, especially as regards to purchasing, receipt, and distribution of regulated reference standards and controlled substances
  •   Ensure that requisition records are accurate, complete, and in appropriate order
  •   Perform all other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent.
  • Experience:  At least 4 years of experience
  •   An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Other:  Previous experience using SAP is preferred
