Business Strategy Alignment
Engagement with business partners to assess IT requirements, the GIO Workplace Service Site lead may perform selection and issue technical recommendations.

  • Ensure infrastructure systems remain Audit Ready (EHS, Financial & GxP).
  • Complete training in SDLC V2 and assist in the alignment of delivery of infrastructure and services as required.
  • Complete all mandatory training within timelines.
  • Maintain optimum standard of housekeeping in areas/sites under GIO control and responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with global and local health and safety standards.
  • Any other similar type of activities

File & Print
  • Assess the local printing requirements.
  • Manage local Managed Print activities
  • Manage and support printers on the shopfloor (labelprinters and laserprinters).
  • Service Management: Attend Incident meetings with HP to escalate issues.  Attend Quarterly Business Reviews as they are scheduled.
  • Optimize cost of print fleet onsite
  • Any other similar type of activities

  • Assess local network requirement in alignment with business strategy
  • Stay abreast of contemporary network & security technology
  • Install and provide local support on the Shopfloor Network (SFN)
  • Work as a liaison between ITRMS and automation on firewall ruling on the SFN
  • Any other similar type of activities

Security Identity & Access Management
  • Act as local contact for ITRMS related activities, promote and support the global security standards
  • Ensure that on-site GIO activities are in compliance with company Policy.
  • Any other similar type of activities

  • Liaise with relevant functional groups to support the OS on all local servers.
  • Act as a liason between functional groups and local business on activities related to P2V, reduction of physical servers, provisioning new virtual servers
  • Ensure up-to-date server inventory in CMDB
  • Manage maintenance contracts for local infrastructure
  • Work as an liaison between global windows team and local automation team on servers on the shopfloor
  • Liase between functional infrastructure groups and application teams about applications running on local infrastrcture
  • Any other similar type of activities

Service Desk, Local Language support, Training
  • Act as escalation point for site to My Support Center, advice site on best practices for engaging with My Support Center.
  • Manage local service desk and Desk-side support team
  • Manage onsite delivery of IT equipment (Laptops, desktops, phones)
  • Analysis, correction and resumption of operation.
  • Provide feedback and liase with vendors.

Client Device Management
  • Manage PC Lifecycle related activities for the site (Forecast, reporting, financials)
  • Manage PCLCP replacements
  • Oversee deployment and spend in relation to mobile devices in country
  • Liaise with local Business to assess PC demand
  • Any other similar type of activities

Storage & Backup, Disaster recovery
  • Act as a local point of contact for the global backup team for backup, restore and disaster recovery activities
  • Implement projects related to backup, restore and disaster recovery
  • Any other similar type of activities
Telephony & video conferencing
  • Regular Meetings with Telecomms providers on SLA’s and contracts.
  • Manage local telephony and video conferencing environment. Liase between global platform teams and local solution group.
  • Any other similar type of activities

Facilities management
  • Manage the infrastructure part of FM projects and Engeneering projects
  • Liase between global teams, local DSS and FM on infrastructure issues in the FM area
  • Any other similar type of activities
  • Site & Regulatory Audits
  • Participate in regulatory audits as required by business.

Technical Competence
  • Understand the available company  infrastructure standards.
  • Keep abreast of new technical developments in the market.

Project Management
  • Manage local infrastructure projects
  • Manage the local implementation of  global infrastructure projects
  • Build dashboards to inform on status and progress
  • Manage budget and timelines

Essential skills are:
  • Knowledge of the market, the company and its customers.
  • Technical expertise in relevant fields of technology.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Language proficiency in an international context.
  • Project management
  • Managing a team with internal staff and/or external consultants
  • An ability to succeed in a complex environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • A very good oral and written communication.
  • An efficient individual in building relationship and negotiating.
  • Proven project methodologies.
  • Gr12 and a related IT qualification
  • Min of 2 years’ experience within a Multi-National Company environment.
