The Consultant, Global Intranet and Multimedia Communications, will be responsible for strategic leadership and communications management of the new global intranet, currently in development, and for other current and future internal multimedia communications channels specifically LillyTV and inVision. This individual will be accountable for leading the communications and change-management work for the intranet s final development and launch, and for managing intranet content, including words and images, and influencing technology upgrades going forward. The Intranet and Multimedia consultant will work across all global communications teams and functions to ensure compelling, creative and strategic business messaging.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Be the lead communications strategist during final development of a new global intranet.
  • Oversee a global change-management program to ensure end-user adoption and smooth implementation of the intranet s publishing system.
  • Lead day-to-day central management of content for the new intranet and draw on expertise to influence the addition of new technologies and related systems going forward. This work is highly strategic and involves strong collaboration and people skills, excellent judgment and ability to work independently, problem-solving ability and high learning agility. It includes selecting stories and videos to highlight and designing image/story packages and other graphics as needed for the intranet channel.
inVision: Internal Video Platform
  • Maintain and lead ongoing improvements in our very popular enterprise-wide secure video platform
  • Maintain, in partnership with the IT organization, a network of global video correspondents
  • Consult with content contributors on guidelines for their videos.
LillyTV : Internal video bulletin board system
  • Provide strategic direction for LillyTV globally
  • Maintain a network of LillyTV global correspondents
  • Consult with contributors on content guidelines for their LillyTV content

Graphic Design

  • Work with internal design team to create graphics when needed for the new intranet and LillyTV, and in the near term for our current channels.

Project Management/Strategic Influence
  • Serve as primary decision-maker and influencer for all issues related to the new intranet, LillyTV, and inVision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Global Communications to ensure that external campaigns are reflected appropriately on the global intranet

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, design, or technology with a minimum of 3 years  experience in social media/intranets or website UX/UI
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • Proven experience in managing the back end of a large company intranet
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization and/or similar exposure to global clients
  • Passion for emerging technologies and enthusiasm for fresh, creative approaches for engaging, interactive communications
  • Proven expertise in developing communication strategies that drive results
  • Ability to influence colleagues and leaders across teams and at all levels of the organization
  • Proven skills in strategic visual and written communications
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan, lead and implement multimedia communication projects
  • Proven, advanced skills with Adobe Creative suite specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, and a diverse design portfolio
  • Some knowledge of/experience with SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced project management abilities with proven success in managing large, global communications projects
  • Excellent learning agility
  • Ability to be a flexible team player with the highest ethical and business standards
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven skills with video editing software (Avid, Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effect)
  • Fluency in a second language in addition to English
  • Experience as a news writer and/or copy editor
