The Instrument Inventory Analyst is responsible for driving toward and meeting the SLA’s contained within the Merck LAMP OneSource Program SOW which require a 95% accuracy rate for instrument inventory. The Instrument Inventory Analyst will support the Merck OneSource sites along with the Merck Asset Management Team as well as other OneSource sites as needed. The positions tasks include, but are not limited to, Annual Instrument Inventories, 20/20 spot checks, one-off relocations, data management, 5S initiatives, warehouse requests and general reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform annual instrument inventories at the Merck OneSource sites.
  • Perform 20/20 spot checks in conjunction with Merck LAMP Director or designee.
  • Work with Merck Super User groups to perform Lab True Ups.
  • Work with Asset Management team to create and maintain the 12 Month Rolling PM Schedule.
  • Prepare and use Inventory reports to assist in maintaining accurate instrument inventories at assigned sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the OneSource Program while reducing cost through process development, review and refinement.
    Act as a back-up resource for other on-site Administrative Team deliverables as needed.

Job Requirements :
Qualifications/Education/Technical Skills:
  • 2-5 years of inventory control experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree desirable.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical R&D lab operations a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer service via telephone and email.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Experience in SAP needed.
  • Professional demeanor and proven independent work ethic, as well as strong team skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate data entry.
  • Experience in LAMP business model (on-site service provider) is a plus

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel to other Merck Sites and Shelton, CT and other regional locations for training and meetings.

Working Conditions: describe office, loading dock, lab environment, include shifts and any travel
  • Most in general office environment; may enter labs to support inventory activities, client meetings, etc.Standard PPE may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs; must have dexterity to be able to physically manipulate and move small parts, bags and boxes.
