The focus of this position is to provide HVACR maintenance expertise and support for the site.
The HVACR technician will work in and around potentially dangerous and hazardous equipment and gasses. Safety is paramount for this position.
Must have the ability to develop and apply troubleshooting skills to diagnose and perform repairs on chillers, refrigerators, freezers and freeze dryers and handle refrigerants as required, in a safe manner.
Must have the ability to learn the proper techniques of installing HEPA filters, perform the air flow tests and properly dispose of the used filters. This includes fume hoods and UAF hoods.
Must have the ability to develop and apply troubleshooting skills to diagnose and perform repairs on air handlers and exhaust fans; including belts, bearings and lubricate properly. Must become proficient with repairing dehumidifiers.
Must be able to develop and apply troubleshooting skills to diagnose and perform repairs to steam traps and steam systems, repair heating and hot water systems.
Must be able to work effectively with customers, handle customer questions with tact and understanding.
High school diploma/GED
HVACR certificate or diploma from a technical school, junior college or college program
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

Must be able to speak, read and write English at a sufficient level to effectively communicate technical and business information.
Must be able to effectively use Lilly business software programs, such as, GMARS, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite and other required software programs.
Must be able to effectively work in a team environment.
Physical considerations include the ability to work with or around equipment, climb ladders and stairs and use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). He/she may be exposed to harsh weather conditions as part of the job.
Must be able to work all shifts.
Must be able to obtain the universal license for handling refrigerants.
An HVACR apprenticeship certification from a recognized program may be acceptable.
Knowledge of Lilly business practices with respect to Red Book, FRAP, local and Corporate requirements and procedures.
Overtime may be required during shutdowns, emergency situations or periods of heavy workloads.
Military service training may be an acceptable alternative
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
