Amgen is searching for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for its US Commercial Business organization within Global Commercial Operations.

Amgen’s US Commercial Business delivers ~$17.2B in annual revenues and is in the midst of new product launches in an increasingly competitive environment. This HRBP will be the strategic HR partner to the Inflammation/Nephrology/Neuroscience Business Unit (INBU) as well as the US Value & Access (USV&A) organizations. The INBU consists of ~980 staff in Thousand Oaks as well as in the field. USV&A consists of ~280 staff in Thousand Oaks as well as in the field. This position provides the opportunity to develop solutions to a variety of complex HR challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This HRBP will use developed HR consulting skills to help their business clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization. They will coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to effect change in the organization. Additional responsibilities include overseeing, in partnership with the relevant HR centers of expertise, leadership development, talent management, compensation strategies, engagement and retention, and ongoing organizational design/optimization efforts. In addition to developing and retaining top internal talent, the HRBP also will play an important role in partnering with Amgen’s staffing organization to identify and attract top external talent to key leadership roles.

This position will be located at Amgen’s corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree & 2 years Human Resources experience
Master’s degree & 4 years of Human Resources experience
Bachelor’s degree or & 6 years of Human Resources experience
Associate’s degree & 10 years of Human Resources experience
High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources development, physical sciences or equivalent and Biotechnology industry knowledge.

8+ years of progressively complex/strategic HR experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, staff development and recruitment.

Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business.

Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives.

Ability to partner well with other HR and business functions.
