Project Description

Amgen’s 10 – 13 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient’s lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

The intern will assess the current process and data interfaces between signal detection and management and periodic aggregate safety reporting. As part of this assessment, the intern will identify process improvement opportunities aimed at increasing efficiencies, quality and consistency. Impacted processes include review of medical literature, aggregate data from the Amgen database and assessment of risks. Global health authority regulations and existing internal processes will need to be considered when making recommendations. At the close of the summer, a business case with results and recommendations will be presented to Safety Management leadership for implementation.


Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications
In the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in engineering, life sciences or regulatory sciences.
Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
Experience with continuous improvement methodology (DMAIC, Six Sigma, etc)
