Description:
  • We are seeking Formulation Scientists – Pharmaceutical Formulations to participate in our ongoing success as a profitable, fast-growing, socially responsible company dedicated to Global Health. As a Formulation Scientist, you will participate in the definition, implementation and monitoring of pharmaceutical formulation development projects.  


Responsibilities  
  • Participate in project planning 
  • Write study plans/protocols and reports 
  • Prepare formulations using diverse pharmaceutical compounds 
  • Develop in-vitro studies of actives in order to characterize the performance of the formulation and to define the composition of compounds and other variables necessary to meet specifications 
  • Compile and analyze data; report data in English in lab notebooks 
  • Present processed data to the team in English 
  • Ensure the careful and complete documentation/archiving of all generated data 
  • Conduct scientific literature research to resolve problems and make recommendations for improvement 
  • Participate in client meetings and / or teleconferences when required, communicating in English 
  • Work closely with other team members and perform activities in response to priorities 
  • Verify that established procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained 
  • Propose and implement improvements to current laboratory technology 
  • Maintain laboratory equipment  
  


Experience / Education
 
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer science / biomaterials or pharmaceutical science, with an emphasis on formulations preferred 
  • Minimum of three years of experience in pharmaceutical formulations or Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer science / biomaterials or pharmaceutical science /formulation 
  • Transnational / international educational or work experience 
  • Experience working in an international team or with international clients preferred 
  • Laboratory research experience involving the formulation of drug delivery systems preferred  
  


Skills
 
Scientific / Technical  
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques, such as HPLC, NMR, GPC, spectrophotometry, viscosity 
  • Solution preparation (weighing, dissolution, dilution) 
  • Knowledge of basic statistics and experimental design  



Language and Computer
  • Fluency in oral and written English 
  • Experience in writing professional documents in English preferred 
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Office, internet use, and e-mail communication
