Fitting Assistant/Customer Care Representative
Join our thriving team in Nanaimo South as a Fitting Assistant. No experience necessary! Training provided.

Working as part of the clinic team the Fitting Assistant supports the Hearing Care Professional in providing superior client care, in addition to assisting with customer service and administration.

Your tasks (training provided)

• Familiarizing and demonstrating to the customer with the components of the hearing aid
• Advising the customers with respect to the use and purchase of batteries
• Demonstrating to the customer the proper maintenance and care routine
• Showing the customer how to insert and remove the hearing aid
• Familiarizing the customer on the use of hearing aid controls
• Instructing the customer on the use of their hearing aid in conjunction with the telephone
• Informing on adjusting to wearing hearing aids
• Informing on fit discomfort issues
• Is knowledgeable and able to describe the features and benefits of accessories items and warranties
• Cleans and checks hearing aids
• Completes minor hearing aid in house repairs
• Demonstration of Assistive Devices
• Advise on services available
• Book follow up appointment for customer if required
• Altering earmolds with direction from the audiologist
• House Calls
• Preparing for fittings – entering audiograms in NOAH and Real Ear equipment as directed by consultant.
• Manages or assists with lab supply ordering and hygiene protocols.

In addition to the tasks mentioned above, the Fitting Assistant may also be responsible for the following:

CUSTOMER SERVICE
• Greets customers and makes them feel welcome, creates ambience in the office, offers amenities
• Answers telephone calls in appropriate manner
• Gleans information from clients and make updates to files
• Properly handles and documents complaints
• Models exceptional customer service to other staff
• Assist with management of wow program

ADMINISTRATION
• Administrative work when not occupied with the above
• Reviews the scheduler daily to ensure Consultant time is booked efficiently
• Creates statistical reports as required and completes portion of Monthly Manager Report
• Knows third party contracts
• Knows how to complete all third party paperwork, including VAC and WSIB and does so on a timely basis

SALES
• Provides accurate and important information to clients with regard to features and benefits
• Knows how to deal with objections with client using appropriate scripting
• Knows how to identify cross selling opportunities and take advantage of them
• Advising customers on the use of accessories and their benefits in reducing repairs
• Review the warranties available and sales agreement

Your profile

High School Graduate
Excellent verbal communication skills
Eager to learn
Technically inclined; hobby or experience in handling or repairing small objects an asset
Strong computer skills; Proficient in the use of Word, Outlook and Excel
Previous work experience in retail sales environment
Background with seniors an asset
