Amgen is searching for a Finance Manager who will play a key role in financial support of the FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) in the cost accounting area. The Finance Manager will be based at the corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA., and will report to the Finance Sr. Manager . The Finance Manager will support cost accounting and financial planning activities, including the standard costs process in SAP and variance tracking and reporting. The Finance Manager will be responsible for standard costs for the ACM, ATO site, and LDC.

The Operations Finance team is responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis for Amgen’s Operations area, which is responsible for Amgen’s manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities for the Finance manager include:
Builds standard costs for products manufactured at the ATO, ACM, and LDC locations in SAP
Builds costing views and validate the cost views with client’s input
Works as a business partner with FP&A to ensure the latest planning assumptions have been built into the standard costs
Works with FP&A to explain drivers behind process order variances for each product manufactured
Participates in the monthly closing activities for various sites under corporate management
Develops and uses financial models to make business decisions
Analyzes data and present results to senior management in a professional, clear and concise manner
Takes initiative and work in a fast paced environment
Supports different time zones locations, as needed

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Master’s degree and 2 years of Finance experience
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Finance experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Finance experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications
CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
Cost Accounting Experience
Experience utilizing SAP
Financial reporting and analysis experience
Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally in an organization
Energetic, detailed oriented, highly motivated with a “can do” outlook
