Responsibilities:
  • Provide Governance activities to ensure that site plant and equipment is being operated and maintained in accordance with company and statutory requirements and all site engineering records are kept up to date to facilitate this.
  • Develop and assess assets to ensure that effective replacement and maintenance strategies are implemented.
  • Provide governance via iFM partner for preventative/predictive maintenance schedules and job plans to ensure compliance statutory and company requirements and maximize asset life and reliability.
  • Own, review and provide technical expertise for site procedures to ensure safe practices are implemented and maintained, incorporating current regulations and standards.
  • Fulfil competent person and/or duty of care responsibilities and own management systems for the site operations where applicable and by discipline experience (e.g. Electrical, Legionella, Asbestos, Pressure Equipment, Energy, Waste etc.)
  • Engineering Project Business Case initiation and scope development.
  • Liaison with procurement to agree and implement appropriate procurement strategies.
  • Project planning and stakeholder communication.Hazard, Risk assessment, Engineering Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Project execution and delivery (including contractor management)
  • Lead the delivery of technical documents in support of projects and other engineering initiatives
  • Lead change control meeting to ensure effective handover of own projects to operation and maintenance functions delivered by an Integrated Facilities Management Organisation. 



Required Experience:
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent with practical experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Have a desire to develop skills, knowledge and experience across a wide range of engineering infrastructure and have potential to develop into wider leadership roles.Understanding and appreciation for working safely e.g. creating or following risk assessments.
  • Be capable of employing a structured approach to justifying key engineering decisions such as investment decisions.
  • Be able to work under own initiative, be well motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to communicate with other engineering disciplines within the team.  
  • Engineers will be required to interface with the customers, stakeholders and other project partners at all levels.
  • Have good personal planning, organisational and analytical skills and be competent in report writing to document system descriptions, business cases to support investment and engineering investigations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team working skills.Good computer literacy.

Desirable skills:
  • Membership of a professional engineering institute, e.g. IET, CIBSE etc.
  • Have achieved or working towards Chartered Engineering Status
  • Experience of project delivery through all stages of scope definition to close-out and handover to operations for projects exceeding £100K in value. 
  • Have experience in working within a structured safe system of work, and be competent to issue safety related documentation to ensure staff safety.
