  •  We employ cutting edge technology to provide our customers with industry leading solutions and are currently seeking to fill the position of Director, Business Development.  This is a remote position, focusing on Safety and Regulatory Solutions. 


Primary Responsibilities
 
Identifies business opportunities by:  
  • Generating new leads and prospects by monitoring and calling daily news feeds, web-site inquiries and personal network 
  • Managing corporate meetings and exhibitions 
  • Attending industry networking meetings 
  • Representing our company  at local, national and international meetings pertinent to public relations and future business development  

Develops and secures business by: 
  • Organizing internal resources for sponsor demonstrations 
  • Giving solution presentations to prospective customer/sponsors 
  • Generating Request for Proposals (RFPs) based on new and existing clients 
  • Generating pricing configurations for new and existing clients 
  • Writing business and technical proposals 
  • Assisting Vice President with client contract negotiations  

Maintains relationships with clients by: 
  • Providing support, information and guidance 
  • Recommending new opportunities 
  • Recommending profit and service improvements 
  • Establishing and maintaining industry and client contacts for continuing good relations and business opportunity development 
  • Developing and maintaining client profiles including updating contacts management system  


Maximizes market penetration by: 
  • Ensuring ongoing understanding of our company’s services, services offered by competitors and market/industry trends  


Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by:  
  • Reading, understanding and adhering to organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
  • Assisting in establishing and enforcing departmental standards 
  • Participating in the modification of company SOPs related to Sales  


Working conditions: 
  • Travel: 0-25% 
  • Lifting: 0-20lbs 
  • Other: Computer work for long periods of time  


  Required Skills 
  Education:  
  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences or related field preferred 
  • Sales/Business Development training preferred  


 Additional skill set: 
  • Ability to work independently or in team setting; ability to adjust to changing priorities 
  • Strong presentation and negotiating skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Ability to project and maintain a professional and positive attitude   


Required Experience 
  • 5+ years clinical research experience and 2+ years successful pharmaceutical/CRO/medical sales experience ideal; comparable combination of education and experience may be considered 
  • Operations experience in clinical trials preferred 
  • Thorough knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical industry, terminology and practices 
  • Proven ability in presenting and negotiating
