The Corporate Affairs Manager for the Amgen Capability Center reports to the Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, with a dotted-line to the Capability Center Site Head.Responsibilities include building and implementing plans for local internal and external communications, philanthropy and community affairs for Amgen in Tampa.In collaboration with Amgen s Corporate Affairs team and site leadership, the Manager will develop and execute the site s external communication strategy, with a particular emphasis on raising Amgen s profile as an employer of choice during a time of significant hiring. As the site begins operations, the Manager will develop and implement an internal communication and engagement plan to build a culture consistent with the Amgen Values and to ensure staff are informed, aligned and engaged with company priorities.Specific responsibilities will also include representing Amgen in the local community and executing a local philanthropy program. The Manager will assist leaders of the Capability Center with developing communications to all Amgen staff about the services provided by the Center.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeORMaster s degree and 2 years of Business or Communications experienceORBachelor s degree and 4 years of Business or Communications experienceORAssociate s degree and 10 years of Business or Communications experienceORHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of Business or Communications experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field5+ years of corporate communication experience, including internal communication and community relationsExcellent writing skills  able to distill complex, technical and lengthy topics into simple, short and compelling communicationsStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in teams and partner, collaborate and influence across the global organizationHigh degree of accuracy, attention to detail and quality controlContinuous improvement mindset; passionate about learning and seeking out opportunities to advance and enhanceAble to work calmly and maintain judgement under pressure; recognizing when to escalateAmgen is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics.
