The Learning Director is responsible for serving as a trusted business advisor to business leaders and stakeholders to enable the leader’s business goals and outcomes by accelerating the development of critical capabilities needed to drive business success through a productive and engaged workforce. The role is accountable to design and execute the Early Science Center’s learning and development strategy. S/he continuously maintains an understanding of key business priorities and processes, partners with key divisional stakeholders to identify performance needs and gaps, collaborates with Learning Support Services (LSS) teams on desired performance outcomes. This leader will build and maintain strategic business relationships, build sponsorship, and provide curation expertise to an integrated learning network. Success in this role depends on a candidate’s ability to partner with key divisional stakeholders, leverage current best practices in the Learning and Development Divisional Business Units and LSS teams, and ensure agreed upon learning solutions support and drive desired outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of related learning or scientific education experience that includes at least 6 years of leadership and management experience
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated leadership in building a learning strategy for modern learners
- Experience in applicable technical/professional areas pertinent to research
- Experience in start-up company development
