This position is responsible for the testing of Raw Materials, In-Process, Stability, Process Validation samples, Method Transfer and Finished Goods samples in accordance with internal procedures or compendia requirements. Interprets and documents results in a clear, concise and accurate manner. Detects and reports all testing problems to area Supervisor in a clear and concise manner. Performs troubleshooting to laboratory instruments.
This position is based in Merck Las Piedras and does not include relocation assistance. The position works rotating shifts.

Bachelor Degree in Natural Sciences with major in Chemistry.
Three (3) years or more of experience in a Quality Operations Laboratory.
Chemist License, preferred.
Must be fully bilingual (English and Spanish, oral and written).
Knowledge in cGMP’s practices, Corporate policies/guidelines, USP/NF, EP, JP.
Computer literate (Word, Excel, others).
Must have analytical abilities and analytical instrumentation experience and knowledge such as but not limited to: GC, HPLC, AA, UV-VIS, Dissolution, Karl Fisher, FTR, LIMS, Empower and other laboratory instruments.
Experienced writing Laboratory investigations and writing SOP’s.
Able to work rotating shifts.
