Buyer As Buyer you are the Business Partner delivering a competitive advantage and sustainable value to all SGS spend.In this position you will be responsible for sourcing of products and services for your category across business lines, negotiating purchases, developing supplier agreements, and delivering savings. This position has a direct report to the Procurement Manager Benelux and you are part of the procurement team. In a context of Procurement organization, working closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. business lines) and external suppliers to develop and especially implement the strategy defined in cooperation with the Global Commodity Managers at the lowest total cost (TCO) in the NCSE region. Specific Responsibilities: " Responsible for the sourcing of products and services, for the categories Laboratory (consumables, chemicals & gasses), Operating Supplies and Facilities, through interfacing with internal customers in order to understand their requirements for products and services across business lines " Generating revenue through productivity initiatives, rebates and contract signing bonuses " Build and maintain Supplier relationships with the objective of reducing costs, eliminating inefficiencies throughout the Procurement Cycle and promoting innovation in SGS s business cycle " Developing Request for Proposals (RFP), evaluate, analyze and assess results, document recommendations and communicate results to internal clients and suppliers with the objective of creating strategic business opportunities and savings " Performing contract completion, contract management, and supplier management for products and services (incl. driving contracts and price negotiations) " Ensures compliance to procurement Policy " Reviewing specifications, and when needed, Capital Expense Requests to understand internal client needs, budgetary requirements and savings opportunities meeting project deliverables and timelines " Exercising ethical business practices and being familiar with legal requirements " Utilizing your legal and risk management knowledge to obtain executive signatures and avoid contractual and/or commitment issues " Ensuring that suppliers and service providers comply with all Service Level Agreements and regulatory requirements for the products / services that they provide " Deliver continuous improvement actions The activities are mainly carried out at the sites in Spijkenisse and Antwerp (50/50) but it is expected that when necessary, you visit other SGS offices in the Netherlands and Belgium. If you take over the lead for regional projects you will travel into the region when needed. Qualifications and Skills: " Bachelor's Degree with a business concentration preferred " 3-5 years Sourcing Experience " Proven negotiation skills " Strong communication, planning, organization, analytical and problem solving skills " Exceptional customer service, client support, and business service consulting skills " Experience with an E-Sourcing Tool, Oracle iProcurement, MS Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook and any other web base communication tools " Prior experience in a similar Purchasing position an asset " Candidates must possess excellent English and Dutch written and oral skills, French is an asset " Confident and comfortable recommending solutions and implement changes " Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment (e.g. regional project for your category) " Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail " Works well under pressure and has the ability to independently and work well with others " Ability to convince others and to develop networks internally and externally .
