ResponsibilitiesBASIC SUMMARY: Maintain and grow the business through client interaction/management, introducing new product ideas and ensure milestones for existing business are met. Work with GEMS/Laboratory Services Operations to develop strategies to capture and retain new business. Responsible for ensuring budgeted revenue and margins are met for the product line(s).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as clients  primary point of contact on the West Coast, NA and as internal liaison for the organization s servicesCoordinate clients  needs, monitor trends, and manage clients  expectationsVisit customers frequently in order to have a full understanding of their needs and expectations and provide solutionsMeet with key clients to assist sales managers and professional staff with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing businessDeliver product/services presentations to customers that support Charles River Labs as a trusted advisorPrepare training materials and presentations for sales representativesProvide training on products to operational staff and internal customersReview market analyses to determine customer needs, develop pricing, and determine discount rates where applicableUnderstand the service offering of the competitionInterface with Laboratory Services and GEMS to help identify gaps in achieving business goals based on scientific/technical literatureInvestigate market opportunities and effect on the market for present productsCoordinate trend information with sales, marketing, customer service, finance and operationsGather and summarize historical product information in meaningful detail relating to projected and actual sales, dollars and production unitsCoordinate with Marketing for development of product literature, website, etc.Support tradeshow and advertising objectivesSupport selling situations by serving as the technical resource for customers and sales groupPerform all other related duties as assignedPosition requires travel more than 50 percent
