Business Development Manager - Ireland
The role is purely and directly targeting and generating sales of our laboratory, and other services to the Food, Beverage and Environmental Industries.

Role overview: CLS, a group of Contract Laboratories, is the leading provider of sampling and analysis to the food, environmental, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Founded in 1994, CLS has developed a reputation for delivering high-quality laboratory data with a customer focused service in a timely manner.
CLS is currently looking to recruit an experienced sales person to support and generate new sales for its ISO:17025 section of the business. This being Environmental sampling and analysis and Microbiological food and water analysis.
The role is purely and directly targeting and generating sales. Office time would be limited to updating business unit managers and discussing and strategising on sales opportunities, as well as key onsite sales related meetings.
Must have a scientific technical background - preferably with a background/qualification in Chemistry and/or Microbiology.
Above all, the candidate must have a proven successful track record in direct sales targeting and conversion of sales – ideally, but not limited to, sales relating to food and environmental laboratory testing.
Must have a minimum of 5 years sales experience, with clear and obvious year on year sales increases delivered.
Must be able to create and deliver a sales plan.
The candidate must be motivated and self driven and enjoy the sales process.
Must have experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.
Must be familiar with following a sales process and updating of a sales tracker/software.
Must ensure all sales administrative tasks such as producing quotations, client enquiries and email correspondence, is done in a timely and efficient manner.
A candidate with “ready to go” existing established target list with transferable clients, would be highly desirable.
Must have strong track record in meeting and exceeding the expectations of clients in pervious role.
Must be systematic and detailed in all their documentation and correspondence.
Must have strong organisational skills.
Must have a strong work ethic and bring a high level of energy to the role.
Must represent CLS & themselves in a neat tidy and professional manner.
Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Must have a natural hunger and ambition to succeed in their role.
An attractive salary package will be offered to the right candidate.
An agreed % commission on sales is also part of the package. This would be paid on actual sales and not assumed sales. The position comes with a company car, a Fuel Card as well as mobile phone and laptop.
An allowance for lunch will also be paid.
Position term: Full time permanent, via a successful probation period.
