|Due to a strategic commitment to the growth of biotherapeutics within the Lilly portfolio, a small group focused on the development and support of automation is being formed. Bioproduct Research & Development is a multidisciplinary organization, focused on the development and commercialization of monoclonal antibodies, novel therapeutic proteins and peptides. These efforts are maximized through the collaborative activities of scientists at our Indianapolis with partners in discovery and manufacturing, taking full advantage of our scientific excellence and engineering capabilities in drug substance, analytical and drug product / device development, coupled with the integrated operational strategy of the biotherapeutic discovery, development and manufacturing organizations. The scientist/engineer is responsible for identifying automation opportunities, assessing available technologies and implementing, developing these technologies and supporting others seeking to leverage use of the automation tools available. The scientist/engineer is also responsible for working collaboratively with a wide array of scientists, engineers and automation experts from many disciplines, leading / supporting organization initiatives, and providing internal influence on the use of automation in a laboratory setting. It is preferred that the scientist/engineer should have some background in SQL-Server, SQL, Python, R, Visual Basic, and/or Oracle or other database or data-parsing programming tools.
