Associate Sourcing Manager Job - Puerto Rico

This position is a key link between customers and the Sourcing Management Groups within Global Procurement. In addition:
Provides leadership and direction for specific site procurement activities including the support of business unit operating and strategic plans.
Represents supply sector(s) locally, understanding supply strategies and agreements and describing the benefits to their site and Merck overall.
Creates source plans for local categories based on supply and supply market analysis and cost models – and also supports and provides information for input into “above site” spend categories.
Implements regional, int’l and global sourcing initiatives locally and leads local sourcing team.
Identifies and documents all cost reduction and profit plan improvements.
Prepares and conducts pre-negotiation planning, live negotiations as well as leads and conducts RFPs, RFQs and quotation analysis.
Operates with a Grant of Authority of in accordance with Global Procurement Policy.
Assures a strong compliance posture according to Merck's Policies, internal control and SOX. Manage the RTV and Standard Cost Generation Processes.
This position is based in Merck Las Piedras and does not include relocation assistance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Materials Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree, preferred.
At least eight (8) years of experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in procurement/sourcing in areas such as raw materials, change management, indirect materials.
Able to travel up to 25% of the time. Traveling between Merck locations may be required, as necessary.
Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
Excellent oral/written communications in both languages. (Spanish/English).
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and customer relationship skills.
Highly developed negotiating techniques and knowledge of procurement procedures.
Experience working with SAP system is required.
Strong teamwork, influencing and coaching skills.
Category experience desirable.
Procurement/Sourcing Certifications- Desirable.
