Job DescriptionBiogen is seeking a motivated individual to join our Neuroimmunology group as an Associate Scientist. The primary responsibility of the individual will be to develop and carry out assays to study the function of targets of interest and support drug discovery efforts. The position requires experience with basic cell and molecular biology techniques necessary to study intracellular signaling pathways. The individual will work under the guidance of current scientists, but it expected to be able to carry out tasks independently, analyze the results, and present in small group meetings. The applicant should be able to read and understand the literature as it relates to their job responsibilities. The applicant may be asked to participate in protocol modification or development.

Qualifications
• Previous bench research experience required

• Proficiency in basic cell and molecular biology techniques: mammalian cell culture, RNA isolation and qPCR, western blot. Experience with flow cytometry/FACS, handling of mouse and/or human blood is a plus

• Ability to carry out experiments independently, analyze results, and make recommendations based on results

• Willingness develop new protocols and troubleshoot existing ones

• Strong communications skills to be able to present results to internal stakeholders
Education
• BS/MS in Biology or related field, preferably with emphasis on neurology, immunology or neuroimmunology
