Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understands business processes and business challenges and actively seeks to identify ways to apply technology to business projects and processes in the corporate business units and ensures technologies are aligned with business strategies.
Builds strategic technology plan for business unit in collaboration with other IT functions and works with the Director IT Business Partner and team to identify how that plan fits with the plan of other business units and builds an integrated technology plan with efficient processes for the corporation.
Identifies business unit’s strategy and long term plans to support the corporate strategy. If there is only a de facto strategy rather than a well-defined strategy, helps solidify the strategy.
Build strong relationships with the management team. Influence strategic thinking to make use of technology to improve operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
Meet with corporate functions and customers to understand requirements for custom solutions and to understand the impact of those solutions on existing systems.
Understands business processes and identifies opportunities for improvements or redesign.
Applies appropriate financial concepts (e.g. ROI, Cost/Benefit) to determine business implications of technology decisions. Measure and report on value of investments after implementation.
Formulates approaches that achieve desired business objectives, including defining system scope and objectives and assisting with business case justification and presentation to Executive Management.
Provides direction and influence for continuous improvement of existing processes leveraging technology.
Prepare and maintain IT annual operating expense and capital budgets for business units.

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years in multiple organizational contexts, linking technology solutions to business needs in biopharmaceutical industry desired.
•Greater than 7 years’ experience in multiple organizational contexts, linking technology to business needs in biopharmaceutical industry.
•Understanding of regulatory requirements and the role technology plays in satisfying those requirements is essential to this position.
•Experience in information technology preferably within a pharmaceutical corporate operations environment. Thorough understanding of best practices in SDLC and the cloud environment
•Strong understanding of IT disaster recovery solutions and planning
•Understanding of financial concepts, TCO, and ROI
•Excellent skills in change management, life-long learning, and diagnosis of sources of problems in both technology and business processes.
•Ability to work strategically and independently with internal and external groups on multiple projects.
•Must be client service-driven with excellent relationship management and analytical skills.
•Flexible, adaptable and hands-on approach necessary.
•Experience in implementing IT strategies and a technology roadmap for multiple clients
•Exceptional communication and leadership skills as evidenced in small and large organizations.
•College degree in IT, mathematics, accounting, chemistry, biology, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
•Functional knowledge/experience in corporate functions (Finance, Legal, Corporate Communications, HR, Compliance, facilities) is strongly desired.
•Working knowledge of Enterprise Information Management disciplines (e.g., Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality) and their application in corporate functions Familiarity and experience with application of industry data standards within the corporate functions
•Ability to work with business to incorporate and establish critical business KPIs and Metrics that facilitate data driven decision making and continuous improvement within business area.
