In this position you will drive cross-functional discussions to ensure that the right clinical value elements are considered in pivotal plans for one of our products by developing and executing the HEOR strategy and ensuring coordination of Global Value, Access, & Pricing (GVAP) related activities. This may include data analyses, model development, and HEOR strategy that demonstrate the costs and benefits of this specific product and our other pipeline products. This analysis supports product selection and reimbursement, including global dossier development and health economics and outcomes research publications. The position will lead the HEOR efforts in close collaboration with key cross-functional and cross-regional colleagues, and will also support countries in preparation for their P&R negotiations. The position will report to the Head of Global Value, Access, & Pricing.. Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research will make a vital contribution to our  development and commercialization decisions. Your efforts will encompass the entire life cycle of Incyte products are critical to strategic and tactical planning.


Job Responsibilities: 
  • Contribute to the development of health economics and outcomes research strategies for this specific and pipeline products, in close collaboration with clinical, medical, global product strategy, publications, and marketing departments in the US, EU and globally 
  • Work closely with functions across the organization to identify evidence generation opportunities and develop an evidence generation plan that optimizes and supports GVAP 
  • Drive cross-functional discussions to ensure that the right clinical value elements (including traditional clinical trials, observational and retrospective studies, and statistical modeling) are considered in pivotal plans for late stage evidence generation by developing the HEOR strategy and ensure coordination of HEOR related activities 
  • Ensures development of health economic evidence generation, global value dossier, budget impact model and cost-effectiveness/utility models  
  • Provide leadership on epidemiology and patient-reported outcome (PRO) studies 
  • Develop protocols, statistical designs, and conducts and report results of studies in order to evaluate the value of treatments. Such projects include decision analytical models, naturalistic trials, survey projects, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and retrospective database evaluations. 
  • Present research results at scientific and HEOR conferences; work with Medical Affairs to submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals 
  • Collaborates closely with regional market access leads in support of global HEOR strategy and local implementation 
  • Ensure competitor evidence is gathered and interpreted, to inform GVAP & HEOR strategy 
  • Perform all company business in accordance with regulations and company policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Masters, Pharm.D or Ph.D in Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Outcomes Research, Health Services Research or Pharmacy Administration. (Specifically) Doctorate degree and 4 years of directly related experience, OR Master’s degree and 8 years of directly related experience AND proven publication track record 6-8 years of overall industry experience (i.e., Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical)     
  • At least 3 years of HEOR experience in a relevant biopharmaceutical setting with demonstrated experience in driving HEOR strategy with drug development / commercialization objectives  

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience working in both global and regional roles; international experience preferred; Customer-facing experience with payers/HTAs strongly preferred   
    • Global experience in a region and/or country in health economics or market access for 2 years or 3-5 years in a HQ role with global responsibility for HE research   
    • Experience in research methodologies as they relate to health economics: experimental studies (randomized and controlled studies), observational studies (prospective and retrospective, chart reviews etc.), literature based studies (systematic reviews and meta-analyses)   
    • Extensive oncology and/or hematology experience; melanoma and/or immune-oncology (IO) experience preferred  
    • Strong tactical HEOR abilities with strategic visibility to see the big picture  
    • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and to interact with senior leadership  
    • Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment  
    • Ability to travel domestic and international, when required
