  • We are seeking an experienced Analytical Scientist for our Discovery Sciences site.
  • The purpose of this job role is to provide analytical support for client programmes. The job role is also a learning and development opportunity. 
  • In addition to learning to perform the general duties the candidate will be expected to expand their skill set and learn about the drug discovery process. 
  • The Analytical Scientist will perform duties such as routine NMR/LCMS analysis of compounds, planning and carrying out detailed experiments, conducting instrument maintenance and fault finding with minimal supervision. 
  • The role will also use appropriate drug discovery search engines to investigate emerging technologies in the analytics and pharmaceutics fields and maintain a strong awareness of the relevant scientific literature and contemporary laboratory practices. 



Requirements:
The following are minimum requirements related to the Analytical Scientist position. 
  • Ph.D. or BSc with 3 years industrial experience.
  • Experience in working with NMR and LC/MS instrumentation
  • Excellent analytical chemistry skills. Good theoretical knowledge and lab experience in analytical chemistry and analytical techniques such as NMR/LCMS.
  • Use of chemical drawing packages (ChemDraw).
  • Use of instrument control software
  • Use of IT packages, for example spreadsheets (Excel), word processing software
