The Chemistry Capabilities and Screening Department is seeking interns interested in participating in Molecular Modeling and ChemInformatics research, either as an independent project or as part of a drug discovery team.

The student will learn how to employ data, models, and methods to drive hypothesis-driven drug discovery and will be exposed to many areas of research relevant to the drug discovery and development process.

Potential involvement in a scientific publication may occur as a result of this research.

We are seeking candidates with excellent academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment.

*
A strong science background in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, informatics, computer science, or applied mathematics is essential.

*
Applicants with previous research experience are highly preferred.

*
Computer programming skills are also a significant plus but not required.

Locations: Boston, MA; Kenilworth, NJ; Rahway, NJ; or West Point, PA

Qualifications

Education:

- Required: Currently pursuing a BS/BA or Master’s/Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, informatics, computer science, or applied mathematics with demonstrated interest/experience in research areas relevant to the drug discovery process

Required:

- Must have completed a minimum of (2) years of studies toward BS/BA degree or a minimum of (1) year towards Master’s/PhD at time of internship (Summer 2017)

- Must be returning to school for fall 2017

- Must be available for full-time employment for 10-12 weeks during the months of June - August 2017

Preferred:

- Significant interest in applying modeling/informatics towards drug discovery research

- Programming skills beneficial

- GPA of 3.0 or higher
