Thesuccessful candidate will work closely in a team environment atour state-of-the-art organic synthesis laboratory preparing andcharactering new molecules of interest to the research program. Theday-to-day work involves conducting multi-step synthetic sequencing techniquesof chromatographic purification, H-NMR and mass spectrometry. The co-op studentis expected to show presentations of results in both oral and written formats.We are seeking a student with general computer knowledge,good communication, and problem solving skills. Some basic laboratoryskills preferred.Merck Research Laboratories-Boston is located on the backof Emmanuel College campus. This is a full-time paid 6month co-op assignment whereby a weekly stipend will be provided to the student.Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and if housing isrequired by student, it must be funded 100% by the student.QualificationsEducation:- Required: Must be currently pursuing a degree in chemistry.Required Qualifications:- Applicants must be available for full time employmentfor 6 months with target start date in June/July 2017.- Applicant must be currently enrolled in anundergraduate academic degree program and will be returning toschool for at least 1 semester following this assignment.Preferred Qualifications:- At least 2 years of completed college-level coursework- Skills or background in organic chemistry laboratoryworkOur employees are the key to our company s success.
