The Co-Op for the Biologics Protein Science will
function as a fully-integrated member of a Biologics drug discovery team. This
position involves working within a state-of-the-art Biologics discovery and
characterization laboratory understanding properties of therapeutic proteins
and its interaction with biological targets. Along with contributing and
learning bench science, the
Co-Op will gain a wider perspective on the protein based drug discovery
process in the pharmaceutical industry.
Day-to-day research will focus on various aspects of protein
characterization and understanding protein-protein interactions using cutting
age biophysical and bioanalytical methods widely used in biologics discovery. The
successful candidate will also be exposed to the emerging new areas of
immuno-oncology to support new candidates for cancer drug discovery.
We are seeking candidates with strong academic performance, critical
thinking and problem solving skills, analytical ability, exceptional written
and verbal communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi-
functional, fast-paced environment. Previous hands-on laboratory experience is
This is a 6 month full-time co-operative assignment
targeted to begin in June/July 2017. Housing is not provided under the
program. Students requiring housing will be responsible for location and
full funding of accommodations.
- Required: candidates
must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or
related field and enrolled in an academic program
- Candidates must be in
at least their junior year
- Applicants must be available
for full-time employment for a period of (6) months
- Accurate experimental
data recording is required
- Grade-point average
(GPA) of at least 3.3 or higher preferred.
- Basic laboratory skills
and research experience preferred
