Experiences

Current Experience

  • Sr. Research Scientist
    Since February 1999
Immunoassay research, development and scale up / manufacturing. Vaccine development. FDA documentation (PMA and 510k) Protein purification and conjugation (including MAbs and large scale.) Protein structure determination. Spectroscopy: UV-Vis, CD, NMR, MALDI-TOF, SPR (Biacore) Chromatography: LC/MS, AKTA, GC Infectious diseases, allergy, autoimmune diseases. Mentoring and training of reporting scientists

Past Experience

  • Director of Admissions
    February 2010 --- September 2013
Organized, promoted and administered registration and admission of approx. 300 classes/yr. Early development of the Learning Management System (LMS) for the PTS online school. Organized and maintained student records (financial, attendance.)

  • Sr. Research Scientist
    January 2005 --- February 2010
Redevelopment of PMA immunoassay (Hepatitis B Ag) PMA assay approved by FDA. Developed and optimized 23 molecular diagnostic immunoassays for Immulite 3gAllergy platform and autoimmune thyroid disease assay for ADVIA. Developed and verified documentation (SOPs, Batch Records) Presented original research (Immulite 3gAllergy) in international symposia. Provided original research data for marketing publication. Successful mentoring and training of reporting scientists – (Advisor for M.Sc. Dissertation.)

  • Project Scientist
    February 1999 --- October 2004
Development of Influenza Vaccine: Built in silico models predicting the evolution of the hemagglutinin (HA) of Influenza virus (types H3N2 and H1N1); analyzed structural changes and studied the binding of HA to target cells. Presented monthly reports to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, Atlanta) Vaccine development - Chlamydia trachomatis (mouse pneumonitis strain): Determined the structure (porin) of the major outer membrane protein (MOMP) of C trachomatis, including developing 2D and 3D in silico models, reconstitution in lipid and detergent micelles and refolding - evaluated by Circular Dichroism (CD) and Fluorescence spectroscopies. Generated and purified MAbs and Fab fragments. Determined affinity constants by Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Produced of large quantities of highly purified proteins for crystallographic studies.
