As a recently graduated social worker, I am passionate to work with children and their extended context like for instance their parents. My experiences contain recently an internship at a child protection service in South-Africa, and voluntary work in an asylum seekers center in the Netherlands. I feel myself connected to subjects such as child protection, poverty and inequality. Based upon my experience in a developing country, I have a strong interest for a position within development cooperation and non-governmental organisations. But given the fact that social work is a profession with a lot of variety in services I have a open-minded view on any sort of position. Subjects such as foster care, domestic violence, child abuse or neglect are for me exciting oppportunities to be involved in. By carrying out community, group and case work I became more flexible and created a fundamental understanding of social work in a developing country. One of the greatest needs in the world is to safeguard the future of children by providing them a safe environment with positive care. By carrying out this vision, I was in the past also working at an asylum seekers center, a children day care center, a general center for public welfare and a youth movement organization. You will never stand taller than when you kneel to help a child. I believe we can put children and their families in their full potential by making sure we do care about them.
