Current Experience

  • R&D Scientist capsules & tablets Hasselt, Belgium
    Since June 2015

As a manufacturer of dietary supplements, we are the supplier of many internationally renowned companies in sports and health nutrition. With our combination of innovative concepts and a flexible yet high-quality production we produce private label products that are convincing. Consumers around the world enjoy the products that are developed and produced at our facility in Hasselt, Belgium.  We specialize in the manufacturing of powders, capsules, tablets, sachets and liquids.  You can think of nutritional sport products and health products such as BCAA's, multivitamins, minerals, glucosamine, omega 3 and other combinations for specific purposes such as slimming, beauty and pre- and post-birth mixes. From premixing and mixing over tableting, coating, blistering and encapsulating to packing. These activities are all done in-house. They are part of our strategy of offering flexible overall solutions.  Because we take care of the entire process, from ingredient to final product, we have full control of quality and flexibility. As a result, Aminolabs delivers customized end-to-end solutions from raw ingredients to the finished product and its packaging.

I am head of the R&D team regarding capsules and tablets. From a lead opportunity of our sales department we develop a new product till a capsule or tablet. Starting with sourcing the materials, calculating the dosage in order to obtain a recipe. Provide advise to customer if needed.  Planning and running a production test to obtain a sample for the customer.  But also follow up on current products and make improvements on the  formula or process.

  • Scientist
    Since November 2007
Formac is a drug delivery company focused on the formulation of poorly soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients. Using its unique mesoporous silica materials, Formac has created an innovative formulation platform to overcome solubility-limited bioavailability. Formac’s technology is easily implementable and upscalable in established manufacturing units and provides solid dosage forms with excellent physical and chemical stability. I joined Formac at the early days, which makes that I have a double role within the company: Scientist and Organization manager. As a scientist I work on the formulation development; in concrete the loading, capsule and tablet development. Followed by further testing these developed formulations via In-vitro dissolution tests. And analytical testings by means of DSC, HPLC and Karl-Fisher. In addition to all of this I am responsible for the organisation and planning of the lab resources like orders, permits, waste management, maintenance equipment etc. As well as training of new employees, act as prevention advisor and substantive participation with the design of the new labs (2011-2013).

Past Experience

    January 2005 --- October 2007
Speciality pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of new drugs for neurological and immunological diseases. I performed mainly analytical tests for the chemistry and biology department. Like there is testing of half and end products of chemistry synthesis, determination of plasma concentrations and performing microsomal stability assays.

  • Research Associate
    July 2004 --- December 2004
I worked in the division of Bioanalysis, where I performed the extractions of dosed PK samples. Analysis of these samples was by means of LC-MS/MS. Most of the studies were performed under GMP conditions.

  • Laboratory Assistant
    September 2002 --- June 2004
In the lab of Farmacotechnologie & Biofarmacie under the supervision of Professor Dr. Guy Van den Mooter I started my working carreer. Prior to this I worked their as a thesis student. The work consisted of spraydrying, solid dispersions, hot-stage extrusions, stability testing and physicochemical caracterization.
