Past Experience

  • Events and Communications Officer
    March 2015 --- December 2015
I’m responsible for the coordination and logistical planning of Ecsite’s Annual Conference, the most prominent meeting of science engagement professionals in Europe. I work closely with the Communications Manager in developing and delivering Ecsite’s communications offer. This includes Ecsite’ website, Ecsite’s monthly digital magazine – Spokes, social media, corporate publications like Annual Reports and brochures, materials for the Ecsite Annual Conference, contributions to the dissemination actions of the European projects, etc.

  • Doctoral Researcher Leuven, België
    October 2010 --- February 2015
As a doctoral researcher I continued my work on understanding the causes leading to Parkinson’s disease. I developed analytical skills and learned to work independently. I managed my own projects and communicated the outcome in team meetings and international conferences. I designed and optimised my own protocols and trained new students.

  • researcher
    October 2009 --- September 2010
As a researcher at Janssen Pharmaceutica I generated and optimised a new monoclonal antibody. This tool proved to be crucial to the screening of prospective drugs for Parkinson’s disease.

  • Intern
    September 2008 --- August 2009
As an intern at Janssen I was exposed to the life cycle of drug development. I was involved in pre-clinical research and my task was to develop a cellular assay for the screening of candidate inhibitors of LRRK2 function, the main genetic factor leading to Parkinson’s disease.
