Past Experience

  • Research Scientist Morocco

    September 2013 --- September 2015

my main duties include disease identification, isolation of pathogenic organism and its multiplication on synthetic media/host plant itself, pathogen race Characterization based on infection responses on differential host plant lines, disease surveillance and disease quantification, constitution and distribution of international disease screening nurseries, evaluation of germplasm against biotrophic and necrotrophic pathogens, and identification of novel sources of resistance. furthermore, i have experience in Project Management and supervision of trainees.

  • Research Assistant Netherlands

    December 2010 --- October 2012

the scientific aim of this project was to identify and explore the genetic framework for nonhost resistance in wheat and barley to two pathogens of enormous economic and ecological impact causing rust (puccinia sp.), and powdery mildew (blumaria sp.). the Research activities in this project include; a global differential Gene-expression Analysis by micro-array, high resolution Genotyping of mapping populations, marker assisted selection, fine mapping of candidate genes, and qtl mapping. more details can be provided if necessary.

  • Research Assistant Netherlands

    February 2008 --- September 2010

the project title was “identification of traits conferring resistance against race 2 isolates of verticillium sp. using arabidopsis and tomato”. i used differential display to identify candidate genes that may contribute to disease resistance against verticillium sp. latter, these candidate genes were silenced in resistant tomato with subsequent verticillium bio-assay to see the role of these candidate genes in verticillium resistance.
