Current Experience

  • Research fellow Davos, Switzerland
    Since January 2014

Lead research on development of a reliable cell-based assay to monitor live stem cell differentiation for drug screening using stem cells, 3D cell culture, co-culture system, viral vectors, fluorescence/luminescence-based cell reporter assays, RNA-based biomarker assay, flow cytometry, FACS, immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscope, ELISA, DNA modification and cloning, qPCR and image analysis. Design and perform experiments according to GLP, GDP and ISO 9001:2008.

Past Experience

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow Zürich, Switzerland
    January 2013 --- December 2013
Led major study on influence of ECM proteins on stem cells using cell-based assays and immunology assays. Isolated and characterized ECM proteins using HPLC, Gel Electrophoresis, Western Blot, Circular Dichroism (CD), Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) and Confocal Microscopy.

  • Research Assistant Singapore
    May 2005 --- December 2006
Contributed to research concerning development of new biomaterials for bone grafts using electrospun collagen fibers, stem cells and rabbit model. Assisted in setup and management of a small lab.

  • Research Assistant Beijing, China
    September 1998 --- June 2002

Focused on expression, purification and characterization of recombinant proteins for diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma using expression vectors, E.coil, CHO cells (pCMV and mammalian cell expression system), sf9 cells (Baculovirus expression vector and insect cell expression system), stirred tank bioreactor, HPLC and ELISA.

  • Interne Beijing, China
    August 1996 --- August 1998
Trained and practiced for General Medicine, Surgical Operation and Pediatrics.
