i Research the wet-chemical synthesis of oxide materials at low temperature by investigating the physicochemical properties of precursor decomposition and oxide formation. the aim is to deposit crystalline films at temperatures lower than for their conventional alternatives.

i Coach bachelor, master and phd students with conducting their Research in the group of inorganic and physical Chemistry. besides that, i support the group managers with the Research activities and the daily Operations of the group.

project on multiferroic materials in collaboration with emat (universiteit antwerpen). i was responsible for the aqueous solution-gel synthesis of bicr0.4mn(0.6-x)fe(2+x)o6 (derivatives) powders, which crystal structure and properties were characterized at emat.

phd dissertation: "low temperature deposition and structure formation as new challenges for the aqueous solution-gel route: a case study of pbtio3"
development of an aqueous solution-gel precursor that allowed the deposition of pbtio3 films. i've used an aqueous-photochemical solution deposition technique to deposit ferroelectric lead titanate films at only 400°c. this technique has been shown to be general applicable for the deposition of a variety of oxides at low temperature. using soft-lithography in combination with the aqueous precursor, i've prepared structured pbtio3 (lines and islands) as well. this route is transferable to any envisioned oxide.
