My main professional interest relies on the Global concept of population as a constant interaction between communities. I have been always attracted by the study of population as a whole, analyzing the factors that hinder -as well as those that promote- their development, and the impact of creative, innovative strategies that go farther than increasing the assigned budget, that lead the change toward improvement. Rewording Rudolf Virchow, healthy population is one of the main outcomes of good governance on politics, “medicine is a social science, and politics is nothing else but medicine on a large scale”. This rationale becomes the reason and motivation to dedicate my career to Global Health. The “global” adjective adds the concept of interaction between communities from around the world and their influence in local and common wealth. Although we can locally solve a problem in a limited area and reach a foreseen development level, we will not be able to sustain that situation if we do not consider working also in the improvement of interacting populations.
