Following an educational background in Biotechnology/Biology, I have worked in the R&D department in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. I am currently looking for new challenges within clinical research/science policy and communication.



Past Experience

  • Research Assistant Belgium

    Structural biology of Cys-loop ion channel receptors; identification of new drug discovery leads.


    My role:

    • Follow GLP
    • Plan and conduct experiments, according to SOP’s
    • Literature research
    • Order test compounds and reagents; request DNA sequencing services
    • Re-install and optimize research tools with increased reliability
    • Weekly meetings with supervisors to present new data and discuss results (oral presentation + results discussion)
    • Record raw data and experiment details in filing system
    • Drafting interim reports to project funders within the agreed timeframe
    • Outline and discuss conclusions to select promising molecules for further studies

    Characterize drug-target interactions potentially relevant for the treatment of anxiety and schizophrenia disorders.
