As a scientific board member of Volition Rx , I provide provide scientific intelligence, ideas and suggestions to the VolitionRx within the framework of the scientific and business activities of the company. I also endeavor to influence the strategic aims to ensure that the necessary scientific and research resources are in place for the VolitionRx to meet its objectives

My research focuses on investigating the structure and function of RNA polymerases (RNAPs). These enzymes play a key role in the regulation of gene expression programs under normal and pathological conditions. During the last decade we have developed numerous unique methodologies. These currently include the in vitro assembly of functional RNAPs from recombinant subunits, high-throughput (robot-assisted) mutagenesis profiling fo protein domains and sophisticated molecular dynamics analyses.

During my postdoctoral studies in Robert Tjian's laboratory I was involved in the characterization of the TFIID basal transcription factor complex. My work led to the molecular cloning of several TFIID subunits and identified a variety of protein-protein interactions between them.
