    Project Summary:

    Since 4 years, the PhD project was focused on the development and the characterization of a new medical imaging probe for the diagnosis and the therapeutic treatment of cancer diseases. This middle-term project is innovative and multidisciplinary at the interface of chemistry, physic and biology.


    The main tasks and skills:


    • Excellent planning and organization skills
    • Good knowledge of the research methodology
    • Good result treatment and highlight the pertinent conclusions
    • Good oral presentation skills (internal and national/international presentations)
    • Ensuring of the updating of recent technological progress by reading of scientific papers
    • Product development (new multifunctional probes)
    • Characterization of the product by different analytical instruments like Relaxometer, Magnetometer, DLS, TEM, XRD, ICP-AES, UV-VIS, pH-meter, FT-IR)
    • Writing of monthly reports, scientific papers and SOP for analytical instruments
    • Training of the personnel for the use of the instruments
    • Excellent knowledge in nanomaterials and colloids (product development, synthesis and characterization)
    • Good knowledge in purification techniques, in medical imaging and in surface modification
    • Collaboration with other departments for the PhD or transversal projects
    • Provide a support to transversal projects
    • Supervision of students for short traineeships (2 to 6 weeks)
