    Since August 2017

    At Confocal.nl, I am responsible for the worldwide sales of the rescan confocal microscope (RCM) system, developed at the University of Amsterdam. In this position, I build customer relationships, provide pre- and post-sales support, and give product demonstrations and trainings to end-users. I also represent our company at key scientific meetings and events.

  • Product Specialist Amsterdam, Netherlands
    April 2016 --- July 2017

    Nikon Instruments is one of the main manufacturers of clinical and research microscopes. As European product specialist, I provided support to sales teams throughout Europe for confocal microscope configurations, tenders, demonstrations, and trainings. I was responsible for keeping technical product information up-to-date, providing sales strategies, and preparing new products launches. I represented Nikon at a variety of scientific meetings and events, and was actively involved in product development.

  • Account Manager - Life Sciences Amsterdam, Netherlands
    November 2013 --- June 2016

    As key account manager at Nikon Instruments, I was responsible for the direct sales of optical microscopes (1-500k€) to universities and research institutes within the Netherlands.
    I managed customer relations, created new business opportunities, and increased the Nikon brand awareness. I organized regular demonstrations and workshops, and provided training to end-users, especially in the field of live-cell imaging.

  • Graduate Student Researcher Montreal, QC, Canada
    September 2011 --- January 2013

    As a graduate student, I set up a home-built multi-photon imaging system, collected, analyzed and reported on data in the field of Neurophysiology, reviewed literature, and wrote grant proposals. I was awarded a McGill Alma Mater Scholarship and Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds PhD Fellowship to support my research.
    Techniques: patch-clamp electrophysiology, 2-photon laser scanning microscopy, calcium imaging, immunohistochemistry.

  • MSc Research Intern Göttingen, Germany
    September 2010 --- March 2011

    For my MSc thesis, I conducted literature research, collected and analyzed data, and reported on research results in the field of Neurophysiology. This internship was supported by a Huygens scholarship.
    Techniques: patch clamp, UV photolysis of caged glutamate, single-cell RT-PCR, histochemistry.
