After obtaining the diploma of Master in Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University in 2004, I have been employed as assisting academic staff member at the department of surgery and anaesthesiology of domestic animals of the faculty of veterinary medicine (Ghent University). While gaining expertise mainly in equine orthopaedics, lameness examinations and surgery, I have been involved in the clinical education of veterinary students and continuing professional development of veterinarians, farriers and horse riding instructors. Concurrently, my research has resulted in several A1-papers and presentations at national and international meetings. In 2011, I obtained my PhD on the use of pressure plate analysis for the objective evaluation of equine locomotion. In 2014, I successfully passed the qualifying exam of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), gaining recognition as European specialist in equine surgery. Specialties: Equine lameness/orthopaedics; surgery; equine locomotion and gait analysis, pressure plate analysis
