Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Since March 2014
As a post-doc I study how mRNA translation and protein synthesis are regulated in a long-lived fruit fly mutant
PhD Student Molecular Biology
September 2009 --- December 2013
As a PhD Student at the Hubrecht Institute I use a combination of C. elegans and next generation sequencing to study mRNAs under active translation and molecular biology techniques and zebrafish genetic models to study ribosome biogenesis.
June 2007 --- June 2008
At Maastricht University, I did general labwork to assist the PhD Students working in the department. This included harvesting tissue, preparing it for cryo-sectioning, performing immunohistological stains, microscopy and preparing images for publication.
Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Molecular Science from Maastricht University in 2008
Secondary School Diploma in from Jeanne D'Arc College Maastricht in 2002
