Graduated as a PhD in September 2013 in two universities: Aalto University (ELEC) and Université Paul Sabatier. The title of the doctoral thesis: "Life cycle assessment of light sources - Case studies and review of the analyses" focusing on the analysis of the environmental impacts of light sources using life cycle assessment. Graduated electrical engineer from Tampere University of Technology in 2007. Current research focuses on environmental impacts of light sources during the life cycle, but also life cycle costing and a wider, total sustainability scope on light source technologies. Special interest in the sustainability of companies and products, especially regarding electrical and electronic equipment and energy-related products. Increasingly interested in sustainable use of light and lighting design, and lighting as a part of the energy system. Combining intelligent, innovative lighting systems with smart energy systems. Expertise in environmental aspects of lighting and ecodesign legislation on lighting products. Special interests in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gases. Specialties: Environmental legislation in the EU, especially the Ecodesign Directive and its implementing measures, Environmental Management Systems, Energy Efficiency of Lighting, Life Cycle Assessment.
