Summary

Holder of a Ph.D. in sciences and expert in cellular and molecular biology. I would describe myself as being an easy going person with a strong personality. Other qualities are openmindedness, curiousity, humbleness and ambition. I am currently looking for a new position preferably in the pharmaceutical sector. I have of course a excellent expertise in a number of molecular and cellular analytical methods as well a good knowledge in the GxPs and QA. I am also particularly interested in the clinical research.

Experiences

Past Experience

  • Postdoctoral Research Assistant
    April 2013 --- November 2015
I have been hired in 2013 as Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the phase I of the clinical study STEMVAC (a Biowin project whose aim was to discover new antigens associated with Breast Cancer Stem Cells (BCSCs). My role as postdoctoral research assistant has been to isolate the BCSCs from breast cancer samples but also from established breast cancer cell lines. Thus, this work has given me the opportunity to improve my skills as biologist (such as in cell culture, as I took part in the implementation of a model of anchorage-independent sphere culture of BCSCs in the laboratory). I have also designed and performed the majority of the experiments aiming at characterize the mammosphere-derived cells, analyzed the results and presented them in team meetings. Besides, I have had the opportunity to realize different logistical and managerial tasks. Indeed, I have supervised the work of several technicians (and students). I have been also in charge of writing technical, activity and claim reports but also to collect the breast cancer sample from the different hospitals.

  • PhD (FNRS)
    October 2007 --- February 2013
The purpose of my work as Ph.D. student has been to identify putative molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways activated in response to a lysosomal dysfunction triggered by a TriPeptidyl Peptidase 1 (TPP-1) deficiency in the Late Infantile Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (LINCL). The LINCL disease is an early onset neurodegenerative pathology that shares numerous common features with other late onset neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer or Parkinson diseases). To achieve our objectives, we have used several experimental models (including a mouse model knockout for the gene coding for TPP-1 but also primary and established human cell lines) and classical tools of cellular and molecular biology (including, for example, Western Blotting, RT-PCR, siRNA…). A number of the results generated by the realized experiments have been published. Lipids and lysosomes (Current Drug Metabolism). Different molecular mechanisms involved in spontaneous and oxidative stress-induced mitochondrial fragmentation in TriPeptidyl Peptidase-1 (TPP-1) deficient fibroblasts (Biosci Rep.) Activation of Sterol-Responsive Element Binding Proteins in a Sucrose-Induced Model of Lysosomal Storage (The Open Pathology Journal)
