i am a dedicated phd with expertise in the field Environmental Science. the last 10 years of my work has been focused on improving soil and water remediation technologies either by using plants or Bacteria to remove organic contaminants and heavy metals from contaminated sites. more specifically, i have worked on removing oil droplet from produced water discharged by oil platforms, reducing the risk associated with organics contaminants by biodegradation and sequestration in the soil, and removing heavy metals in contaminated soil by using plants (phytoremediation). i have managed Research projects, planned and carried out experimental Assays, managed and analysed large data sets. i have gained good results with peer-reviewed articles and scientific reports plus given Presentations at several international conferences. with my masters in Environmental Science i have a wide interdisciplinary knowledge of Biological, physical and chemical processes and i collaborate well across scientific fields and technical understandings. connection to national and international key partners and a strong collaboration with different Research teams has proven to be fundamental for keeping state of the art practices at both analytic and process thinking levels. the constant connection with the industry sector has been an advantageous element to drive relevance, applicability, and value of the produced knowledge. as a person, i take initiative, i am structured, social and curious for new things. specialities: environment, soil and groundwater remediation, Risk Assessment, passive Sampling, academic work, coordination of projects, dissemination of theoretical knowledge.

    the post-doctoral Research at technical University of denmark (dtu) was in collaboration with mærsk oil & gas (denmark) to reduce the crude oil content in produced water by biodegradation of oil with Bacteria. this project involved analyse of gasoline, crude oil, diesel in water by gc-fid. a part of the project has been dedicated to reduce the oil content in produce water by demulsifying soluble oil by adding enzymes in order to improve oil / water separation. passive Sampling device has been tried to measure oil content in produced water to improve oil extraction and Analysis. removal of oil droplets would have a positive environmental impact as most produced water is discharged into the sea. if the water quality could be improved to acceptable level, reinjections into oil reservoirs are a possibility. - oil Analysis gc-fid - oil contaminated water gc-fid - microbial biodegradation of oil in water Project Manager: sidesel marie nielsen (
