My research interests include development of enzymes/proteins and carbohydrates for health-related and industrial applications. I have experience in heterologous protein expression: in Escherichia coli, methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris; protein purification: gel filtration, ion exchange, affinity chromatography (ÄKTA), ultrafiltration (Millipore); enzymology: kinetic analysis, stability, binding interaction; and molecular biology: protein engineering, cDNA cloning. Characterisation of carbohydrate active enzymes for industrial application as well as purification and analysis of carbohydrates and proteins using various techniques: HPAEC-PAD, HPLC (Dionex), MALDI-TOF MS (Bruker Daltonics), DSC (MicroCal), SPR (Biacore) and TLC are the research experiences up to date.
