Research focus on implementing molecular Epidemiology and one Health principle to investigate antimicrobial resistance in Bacteria. thus helping in understanding the evolution, selection and transfer of antibiotic resistance between different organisms and the effect of human, animals and environment on this process.

worked at Professor nico van nuland's laboraty in vub - department of Structural Biology on researching the allosteric properties of an engineered kanamycin-binding beta-lacatmase. work included trying to maximize the yield of the engineered Enzyme in e.coli, Protein Purification, isotopic labeling, 2d-NMR spectroscopy, as well as constructing several beta lactamase mutants by PCR based mutagensis technique.

practical Training at Professor bassem hassan's Lab (ku leuven University - gasthuisberg Hospital) in leuven, belgium, in: - genomic extraction - mini-preps - Western blot - PCR preparation - Gel Electrophoresis - fly Lab work (identification of different characteristics of drosophila melanogaster), brain dissections for larvae and adults, making crosses of flies from different genetic backgrounds).
