Advanced training and experience in microbiological, biochemical and molecular techniques; enthusiastic and adaptive scientist committed to conducting research in fundamental and biotechnological sciences.

Current Experience

  • Ph.D. Student Brno, Czechia
    Since October 2017

Research focus on implementing molecular epidemiology and one health principle to investigate antimicrobial resistance in bacteria. Thus helping in understanding the evolution, selection and transfer of antibiotic resistance between different organisms and the effect of human, animals and environment on this process.

  • Lab Analyst
    Since June 2015
-Develop and coordinate activities and programs necessary to meet and maintain quality standards and reliability of manufactured products. -Perform quality control including microbiological testing and analysis. -Conduct the required and specified validation / qualification and calibration processes. -Participate to deviation and out of specifications investigations. -Follow and apply the company’s quality system based on Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 9001:2008 requirements.

  • Science Teacher
    Since February 2015

-Teaching sciences for Elementary and Middle school students.

Past Experience

  • Researcher
    September 2013 --- September 2014
Worked at Professor Nico Van Nuland's laboraty in VUB - Department of Structural Biology on researching the allosteric properties of an engineered kanamycin-binding Beta-Lacatmase. Work included trying to maximize the yield of the engineered enzyme in E.coli, protein purification, isotopic labeling, 2D-NMR spectroscopy, as well as constructing several beta lactamase mutants by PCR based mutagensis technique.

  • Trainee
    November 2013 --- December 2013
Practical training at Vrije Universteit Brussel, Belgium, in: - Western blot - SDS-PAGE - ELISA - DNA recombination techniques using plasmids - Protein purification - Immuno-Essaying.

  • Trainee
    April 2013 --- April 2013
Practical Training at Professor Bassem Hassan's Lab (KU Leuven University - Gasthuisberg Hospital) in Leuven, Belgium, in: - Genomic Extraction - Mini-preps - Western blot - PCR preparation - Gel electrophoresis - Fly lab work (identification of different characteristics of Drosophila melanogaster), Brain dissections for larvae and adults, making crosses of flies from different genetic backgrounds).
