Summary

My project as a doctoral student in Biomedical Sciences is designed to optimise the oncology biomarker testing process and the organisation of the medical laboratory. A support will be created to assure the quality and to guarantee the patient safety. The thesis is subdivided in different projects 1. To identify indicators related to a higher quality assurance of diagnostic biomarker testing. 2. To identify differences between the NGS panels/assays and platforms that are available and analyse the influence of the use of different quality control (QC) metrics during the analysis. 3. To optimise the communication of the test result by improving the diagnostic report for biomarker testing results. Forensic scientist. I obtained experience as intern at Belgium's national forensics institute in the department of Biology (NICC). Interested in all the different phases of the forensic process, from the crime scene investigation, through analysis to the writing of a forensic report. Special interest for the identification of victims (kinship analysis, mass disasters). Ability to work in a (international) team Flexible Analytical thinking quality assurance
