Current Experience

  • Research Engineer
    Since February 2015
    Eukaryotic Single-Cell Analysis Core Facility

Past Experience

  • Postdoctoral fellow
    March 2012 --- August 2014
    - Setting up and developing Smart-seq2, a new single-cell RNA sequencing method for full-length RNA profiling. This work is described in details in 2 articles recently published in Nature Methods and Nature Protocols - Contributing to the development of a in-house Tn5 transposase system for fast, accurate and inexpensive tagmentation reactions (manuscript in preparation) - Implementation of Smart-seq2 into 3 research projects, mostly immunology-related. All projects are up and running and have already generated good results. Preliminary data are expected to be published in 2014 at least for two of the projects.

  • R&D Scientist
    May 2010 --- February 2012
    - Developing a method for whole-genome methylome seauencing and adapted to Illumina HiSeq 2000 instruments. The method was applied to the investigation of the methylome of medulloblastoma tumours, the second leading cancer among pediatrics. The results are presented in a paper recently accepted in "Nature" - Experience in other targeted methylome sequencing methods, in particular Reduced Representation Bisulfite Sequencing (RRBS)

  • Postdoctoral fellow
    April 2006 --- April 2010
Investigating low-susceptibility genes predisposing to breast and colorectal cancer using linkage analysis and association studies. In the 4 years of my postdoc I co-authored 8 original scientific articles and 1 review article

  • PhD in Biotechnology
    January 2003 --- March 2006
    - Developing a new cDNA microarray method and its application to the study of drug resistance observed in breast cancer patients. - Studying the mechanism of TGF beta1-driven epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a in-vitro model using renal epithelial cells. This work resulted in 1 original scientific article
