    --Identification of genes and proteins that are modulated during implant osseointegration in healthy versus compromised bone to counter the compromising effects of osteoporosis in the osseointegration process. --Investigation of the bone regeneration cascade at the implant surface in healthy versus osteoporotic host bone at the genetic and proteomic scale. --Evaluate whether the peri-implant bone stimulating effect of LMHF loading also applies to osteoporotic bone. --To investigate the underlying molecular regulatory mechanisms that rule bone response to LMHF loading.

Past Experience

  • Research Trainee
    August 2011 --- December 2011
    To understand the underlying mechanisms that govern the homing of human stromal stem cells to injured tissues and to unravel the genes,growth factors and the signalling pathways involved.

  • Master student
    January 2011 --- June 2011
    --Put together the detailed stress profiles for hTERT cells at different temperatures by subjecting them to heat shock and using the wound healing functional assay, to check the effects of heat shock on cells. --One step growth analysis with curcumin. --Comparison of the kinetics of HSP expression with mild and severe heat shock response.
