i'm a Biomedical Scientist, currently in the last year of my phd. i am passionate about Immunology and autoimmunity and try to convey my enthusiasm to students and colleagues. i’m ready for the next big adventure, which will hopefully broaden my Research expertise and personal skills.

    Since September 2012
    during my phd, i aim to determine the cause for cd4+cd28null t Cell expansions and their role in multiple sclerosis. i hypothesize that cmv infection triggers the expansion of cd4+cd28null t cells and that both cmv as well as cd4+cd28null t cells aggravate ms disease. During my PhD, I aim to determine the cause for CD4+CD28null T cell expansions and their role in multiple sclerosis. I hypothesize that CMV infection triggers the expansion of CD4+CD28null T cells and that both CMV as well as CD4+CD28null T cells aggravate MS disease.

    project title: defining the neurotrophic and immunomodulatory properties of wharton’s jelly Stem Cells. main accomplishments: mastering facs, qrt-PCR, ELISA, In Vivo experiments (eae and etbr model in rats), isolation and differentiation of Stem Cells.

    during my junior practical Training, i determined the paraoxonase (pon) activity in human plasma and Vascular endothelial cells. in addition, i investigated whether α-tocopherolphosphate is a substrate of paraoxonase. main accomplishments: measuring Enzyme Kinetics and antioxidant capacities

  • Major internship - Physiology and Biophysics

    April 2010 --- May 2010
    this internship was divided into 2 projects. first, i studied the effect of maternal Inflammation on the microglia of the embryonic neocortex. the second project evaluated the Transfection of the glycine receptor α3 and the glutamate-sensitive chloride channel in human embryonic kidney (hek) 293t cells. main accomplishments: learning Immunohistochemistry, patch clamp, Cell culturing and Transfection
